va__1 - FINE CONDITION "J. FORD" MARKED KENTUCKY RIFLE.
This is another fine condition Kentucky that has been re-converted. 52" o/a with 41" barrel and "Golcher, Warranted" lock. Nicely Tiger-striped maple stock and engraved patchbox. There is no dent to the patchbox as it seems in the photo, just a strange reflection. This absolutely looks to be a Virginia made rifle. It is in very fine condition with lovely wood and the metal parts are untouched.

LA412 - FINE BERDAN SHARPS SHARPSHOOTERS RIFLE.
In the 54XXX range, and absolutely untouched and out of the woods from Western Pennsylvania. All metal in smooth light brown patina, wood is fine+ with a perfect but very faint cartouche. All other markings are near perfect. If you have been looking for a nice Berdan, and not one of the pitted, overcleaned, overused humps, this is a nice rifle to consider. Made famous by the U. S. Sharpshooting regiment of Hiram Berdan, who were the " special forces " of the Union Army in the Civil War.
