1026 - CIVIL WAR COLT ARMY REVOLVER - FINE CONDITION COLT MODEL 1860 ARMY REVOLVER WITH FLUTED CYLINDER WITH FACTORY LETTER AS SHIPPED TO GOVERNOR WILLIAM DENNISON OF OHIO.
In fine condition for a Flute, this gun retains generous traces of finish on the protected areas of the 8" barrel and traces in the cylinder stop-slots. Slightest traces of case colors on the frame are visable. The grips show 85%+ original varnish. Lots of silver on the triggerguard. This gun is sharp and crisp and was shipped June 14, 1861 with 299 other guns. It is way above average condition for a Fluted Army, many of which saw there way into Southern hands early in the war.

1010 - ANTIQUE COLT POWDER FLASK - OUTSTANDING, EXTREMELY RARE AND DESIRABLE POWDER FLASK FOR THE "RARE" COLT 1ST MODEL SQUAREBACK NAVY REVOLVER.
Probably as rare as a Colt Walker flask, this standard plunger-topped 1st Model flask is almost impossible to find in any condition. This example is beautifull, and would be about $4,000 - $5,000.00 as a "normal" Navy Flask. This is 50 - 100 times as rare, and a great opportunity for a squareback collector looking to properly outfit his gun. It retains about 85% original aged laquer finish to its face, and about 30% on the reverse where it has laid for many years.

1005 - ANTIQUE COLT REVOLVER - GORGEOUS CASED AND FACTORY ENGRAVED 5" COLT POCKET REVOLVER WITH FACTORY IVORY GRIPS. CASE INSCRIPTION ; "Jno. G. CAMPBELL / Md. Campbell served with the 1st Maryland Cavalry.
This lovely 5" Pocket retains 95% blue on the barrel, generous traces on the cylinder over near perfect scene and all its smokey grey and silvered out case-colors. The grip straps retain 99% original silver and the grips are spectacular factory original ivories. This gun is accompanied with fine condition accessories in an original Colt casing with a silver plaque where lies the inscription. The ONLY John G. Campbell that served in the Civil War from Maryland was from Havre de Grace, Maryland, a beautifull hamlet just off the Susquehanna of tall stately Victorian edifices that create an elegant atmosphere to this day. The 1st saw much prolific service during the conflict between North and South losing 3 officers and 68 enlisted men killed (high for a Cavalry unit), and a total of 201. They saw action in most major conflicts of the Eastern theatre including but not limited to; Balls Bluff, Bull Run, Chantilly, Fredericksburg, Brandy Station, Aldie, Gettysburg, Mine Run, Fair Oaks, Five Forks and the troopers were present for Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House. This unit was cited for their extensive training and formal educations of many who served within that came from well-to-do families from Maryland and the DC area. Research is still being compiled on Campbell, who mustered into the 1st Maryland on October 15, 1861 and was mustered out on August 8, 1865. He was wounded at Brandy Station and left for dead on the field, later reported as such in his muster sheets. He was captured by "Whites Commanches", the 35th Battalion of Virginia Cavalry, and sent to Libby Prison. He was quickly paroled to Annapolis and listed as present for Gettysburg.

fr-1 - OUTSTANDING, EXTREMELY RARE PAIR OF REVOLVERS (ONE BEING PRESENTED BY SAMUEL COLT!) BELONGING TO JOHN B. FLOYD, FORMER U.S. REPRESENTATIVE, GOVERNOR OF VIRGINA, SECRETARY OF WAR UNDER BUCHANAN, AND CONFEDERATE GENERAL.
I don't have enough room here to described these guns properly, but I'll try. In 1858, Colt sent Floyd (then Secretary of War) a suite of arms by personal representatives of the Colt Factory. Besides this deluxe presentation Root, Colt sent; A cased Revolving Rifle, a cased Shoulder- stocked Dragoon Revolver, a cased 1851 Navy Revolver, a cased Colt Pocket Revolver and presumably, a cased Root Revolver. All of these arms were engraved and finished in the finest fashion to display the quality of, and differences in models that Colt manufactured at the time. All were engraved in the highest quality by Gustav Young, all were of special high polish finish, all were in deluxe casings with beautifull accessories. Each of the guns had a special presentation on the backstrap, reading, "Presented to Hon. J.B. Floyd from Col. Colt's Workmen". All of the guns have been accounted for by collectors over the past century, and most have been pictured prominently in the very best books on Firearms. All but one. The Colt Root Revolver pictured here. These guns were found and purchased from the family of Sally Ann Brock Putnam, a close family friend of the Floyd family, and author of "Richmond During the War" by well-known Confederate collector, Bill Turner. According to the family at the time of purchase, these two guns were given to the Putnam family for protection by Floyd as he made his way back to Richmond after the surrender of Fort Donnelson in Kentucky. They had remained in the family since the Civil War. It is thought by several well-known collectors that the '62 Police Revolver was Floyd's carry-gun at the time. I have much more information on these arms. If you have an interest, call for more. 216-541-4111.

env-1 - UNTOUCHED AND RARE GUSTAV YOUNG ENGRAVED 1851 NAVY REVOLVER WITH FACTORY IVORIES AND IRON STRAPS.
This rare fellow has come back to visit after selling off this website last year. I just took it back in trade. It is in a super-rare configuration being factory engraved and the only iron-strapped Navy that I have ever seen with factory ivories. The gun is generally sharp with generous traces of color in protected areas and mixed with a dark, untouched brown patina. It has a nice scene and the grips are 100% original with an age crack to the left side. This gun had several inquiries last time, and now it is a tiny bit cheaper due to the trade. If you're the type of collector that appreciates an untouched engraved gun vs. a greyed-out overcleaned one, give me a call.

1dr-1 - OUTSTANDING, MARTIALLY MARKED COLT 1ST MODEL DRAGOON.
This is a true rarity. A Colt 1st Model that is not just sharp and crisp, but it absolutely has the best cylinder scene I have ever seen on just about ANY model dragoon. The gun has seen little use and is fully sub-inspected. The grips show a faint cartouche on the left side and just traces on the right. From the feel of the grips and their fine condition, I'd say that they were thinned on purpose to accomodate the hand that used it. All edges markings and action are nearly crisp as new. The scene is so outstanding, you can see hordes of soldiers and Indians in the backround down to the finest detail. A fine condition 1st Model with less than half of its finish recently sold at auction in the $80,000.00 range. For the price, I like this big gun much better. It is stunning.

ip1 - SPECTACULAR COLT PRESENTATION MODEL 1849 POCKET MODEL REVOLVER.
Another item thats image speaks for itself. This is a near mint, 5" early pocket revolver inscribed on the back-strap, "Alfred Blackman from The Inventor". Blackman was a political figure in Connecticut in the mid-19th century and obviously a friend or associate of Same Colt. Colt presentation, especially those inscribed as "From the Inventor" are of the most desirable of all collectable American Firearms. A prize.
